The Venture Bros. Season 4 Teaser

I am a huge fan of the Adult Swim series, The Venture Bros. and was very pleased to hear that the creators, Jackson Publick and Doc Hammer were attending this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. I bought a 15 dollar poster of season 3 at the Adult Swim booth for Jackson Publick and Doc Hammer to sign, along with my DVD copies of season 1, 2 and 3.

While waiting in line for autographs, my friends and I jumped at photo ops with fans dressed as characters from the show. We met a handful of Dr. Girlfriends and Dr. Mrs. The Monarchs– surprisingly there were zero ladies dressed as Molotov Cocktease. We also got photos with fans dressed as Dr. Orpheus, Baron Underbeit and Sgt. Hatred. In the last few moments in line, we eyed two guys dressed as The Monarch chatting, each sizing up the other’s costume.

Meeting Jackson and Doc was awesome! They each handed out Comic-Con exclusives: yellow Henchman 24 memorial cups! They happily signed our posters and DVD’s; Doc took an artistic approach in signing my season 1 DVD– he leaned back in his chair and examined the DVD case, making sure that his signature balance with the cover art.

At the panel the Venture duo presented their teaser to season 4 and the crowd went nuts and called for an encore! The teaser suggested that the upcoming season could be the best season yet. The teaser opens with Doc’s voice introducing the Venture compound (clone lab included) to the new Venture bodyguard. The teaser presented brief clips characters (some old, some new) and gave glimpses into the new season.

The clips suggest that the boys are now aging, Dean is growing a mustache and Hank sports longer hair. The clips also suggests that Dean dies; His naked body floats in space, ages and disintegrates. Another clip shows Doc and Dean on the movable walkway when suddenly Doc Rusty Venture from the future appears; Future Doc claims that they need to finish the time machine, before the ‘Angels of Destruction’ find the portal. Overall, season 4 looks to be a kick ass installment and convention goers agree!

During the panel, Doc and Jackson confirmed Brock Samson and Henchman 24 questions. Many fans were left puzzled in the wake of last season’s finale when Brock Samson unexpectedly quits as Venture bodyguard and Henchman 24 dies in the Monarch mobile explosion. Jackson addressed that Brock did quit but not the show and that Brock will make an appearance sometime in season 4.

Post convention, I have a ton of burning questions– can’t wait for next season!

Great tips to follow. Being professional and showing them there’s more to come I think are the most important. You need to give them a great article, that makes them want to come back. And then make sure you don’t disappoint.
