The Tester: Open Casting Call

Want a chance to work for PlayStation? Do you have the skills and determination to work as a game tester? Playstation announced a new original program that will be created for the PlayStation Network called “The Tester.” The show will challenge a select group of gamers in a series of challenges to determine if they have what it takes to make it as an official Game Tester. The elimination competitions throughout the series will not only assess the contestants’ videogame knowledge, but they will also challenge the gamers’ memory, stamina, dexterity, and overall mental prowess. Contestants must have the whole package to take home the coveted prize in this new original series: personality, skills, smarts and competitive edge. The lucky winner will earn a contract position at Sony Computer Entertainment’s Quality Assurance department in San Diego, CA, where he or she will get hands-on time with the most highly anticipated games in the industry.

I live in San Diego and I’ve encountered positions for game tester at Sony on a couple of my job searches in the past. I always thought that game testing would be a awesome gig. Now in between jobs– the casting call for the series sounds like a pretty sweet deal. Contestants compete on television and the winner gets a contract job with Sony. Not exactly sure if I got all the skills or the star quality but I’ve been gamer for years and as far as platform loyalty goes, Playstation is number one in my book!

I’ve decided to come up with a video submission. Stay tuned–
